Gmail back again having problems. When I try to log into Gmail, I also get a “502 server error” message, or I get “server error” message. He got as far as “Loading …” bar on top, but it’s the farthest I’ve gotten. Even in customized Google Home Page, the Gmail says only that “the server experiencing temporary error and could not complete your request. Please try again in 30 seconds.” On related note, Google Talk logs me in but did not show my contacts. So, for all practical purposes, I can not access my Gmail with Google Talk as well.

Yesterday a vulnerability was discovered: a specially crafted URL could be requested that would allow an attacker to bypass a security check to verify a user requested a password reset. As a result, the first account without a key in the database (usually the admin account) would have its password reset and a new password would be emailed to the account owner. This doesn’t allow remote access, but it is very annoying.
We fixed this problem last night and have been testing the fixes and looking for other problems since then. Version 2.8.4 which fixes all known problems is now available for download and is highly recommended for all users of WordPress.

WordPress 2.8.1 has been released as a stable version to the public. Due to some errors in version 2.8 released just over a month, has already released the new version of WordPress 2.8.1 in which have been corrected and some changes and improvements as set out in the blog development of WordPress.
I got some of the changes that were made in WordPress 2.8.1 here. Mainly the changes were to fix the many bugs as well as tighten the security for plugin administration pages. Apparently admin pages that were added by certain plugins could be viewed by unprivileged users.
