For AVG Antivirus users who want to replace it with Kaspersky Antivirus, will usually get a few problems on the Kaspersky installation. Install process can not run because it will show the message “incompatible software – installed error”.

This is because AVG AntiVirus that previously have had to use the data and create a Registry. And when you remove / uninstall through the Control Panel Registry Data is not lost. To overcome this problem you can do so by using software such as CCleaner. Or you can also do this manually through the Registry Editor.

With the way this manual, you can delete the registry entry AVG before, so that later we can install Kaspersky Anti Virus 2009.

First you open the start menu ==>> run and then type ==>> regedit ==>> enter. On the page Registry Editor, navigate to the entry as below;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG7Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG6INSTALL
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG8Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVG\Avg8

Right-click on the entry and remove / delete. If you are using 64 bit then the entry should be removed as below;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG7Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG6INSTALL
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AVG8Uninstall
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\AVG\Avg8

Once you make the instructions as above, the next you can install Kaspersky Anti Virus 2009. So with the tips in this post will be easier for you to experience problems such as this.
